Buyers of 32 apartments in a project by Avnei Derech in Jerusalem are claiming compensation amounting to 14.7 million shekels due to a delay of over four years in the delivery of the apartments. The plaintiffs point out that the delay forced them to pay rent while repaying their mortgage, leading to additional debts. The lawsuit was filed in the Tel Aviv District Court, and they claim that the company did not provide compensation for the rent they had to pay beyond what was planned. Additionally, it is alleged that Avnei Derech charged them indexation differences in payments even during the delay period. The project, located on Zionism Street, includes the reinforcement and expansion of five buildings, with construction work only starting in September 2021, after obtaining building permits in 2019. The apartment buyers claim that the delays began before the war, and they are seeking additional compensation for emotional distress and expenses. Avnei Derech claims that the delays began before it entered the project, and it is actively working to complete the construction.
