A new expansion plan for the Dizengoff Center in Tel Aviv is expected to upgrade the commercial complex and add a variety of uses. The local planning and building committee will discuss the recommendation to approve the plan, which proposes an addition of three floors to the existing structure, bringing its height to seven floors. The plan, initiated by the 'Dizengoff Center' company in partnership with the Tel Aviv municipality, also includes the construction of a hotel with 40-50 rooms and small rental apartments, with 15% allocated for affordable housing.
Additionally, the plan proposes the establishment of a public park on the roof of the building, which will include green spaces, facilities for solar energy production, and seating areas. The construction addition will also include public spaces such as daycare centers and kindergartens. All this, while maintaining the values of the white city, as found in the impact assessment conducted for UNESCO. The plan focuses on enhancing pedestrian connectivity and improving commercial facades, aiming to make the complex more attractive to the public.
