Dormitory neighborhoods along the coast, between Haifa and Hadera, have experienced a significant increase in demand in recent years, despite being isolated from city centers. The neighborhoods, built about fifteen years ago, offered apartments at relatively low prices, but over time, real estate prices in the area have risen. The example of Avi Berko, who purchased an apartment in the Neot Peres neighborhood, illustrates the shift in value perception of these neighborhoods. Berko, who had to deal with social differences in the city, found advantages in a spacious apartment at an accessible price, close to his workplace. The new neighborhoods, although considered less attractive by some long-time residents, offer cheaper housing solutions, attracting young families and investors. However, some are concerned about the investment in these neighborhoods, which they say could come at the expense of older, more established neighborhoods.
